It Happened at a School Lockdown

A fictional account of a true event.
It was Friday- at the end of the week- meaning that spring break would soon be upon us. We were in class playing an online game, when all of a sudden the dean's voice was heard upon the loudspeaker. He sounded very worried, and announced that this was not a drill- "Go into lockdown immediately". We turned off the lights hurriedly and huddled into the back corner of the classroom. We all sat in silence for about two minutes, until the usual buzzing on the panel in the back of the room stopped- meaning that the school must have cut all the power out.
We all glanced at each other realizing that this must be serious. A few minutes later we heard a man pounding down the hallway screaming at the top of his lungs. A few of the girls actually started crying while the lunatic man outside started banging on the lockers screaming, "I'll kill all of you"!
It was then that I actually started to fear for my life. The banging on the lockers changed to banging on our classroom door. One of the crying girls started screaming, "No"!
And the man banging on the door started yelling "Open up"!
It felt like an eternity that the man was beating on the door. The intruder finally ended up continuing down the hallway screaming like a mentally insane person until we could not hear him anymore.
I'd say about ten minutes later; the dean came back on the loudspeaker explaining the situation. He'd said someone- probably a mentally insane person- had wandered into the school and assaulted the lady at the front desk., causing her to flee the building. The staff wasn't sure if the man was armed or not. The staff had done a sweep of the hallways, but could not find the man anywhere. The dean instructed all of the teachers to continue teaching, but to keep all of the doors locked in case the man was still in the building. The most disturbing part was, one of the
janitors that was on the night shift found the man sleeping in one of the storage closets. A rumor I heard, was sticking out of his pocket was a 44 magnum. The janitor must have done something stupid to wake him up, like leave the door to the closet open, because by the time the police arrived on the scene, he was gone.
