According to Emma Morano of Italy, the key to life longevity is raw eggs and cookies! Emma Morano celebrated her 117th birthday on November 30, 2016. She was said to be the oldest person in the world in May after American Susannah Mushatt Jones died at the age of 116. Jones was born in Alabama and she didn’t smoke or drink, she thanks her long life to loving relationships and sleep. Morano credits her long life to a diet of raw eggs and independence. Morano ended her abusive marriage before divorce was even legal in Italy. She was born November 29, 1899, in the Piedmont region of Italy. Life longevity seems to run in the Morano family, her mom lived till 100 and some of her sisters made it to a century. However, Morano started her peculiar diet when her doctor recommended raw eggs to fight her anemia. She’s followed a strict diet of two raw eggs, one cooked egg, a little-minced meat, and pasta for the past 90 years. Now she’s cut down her diet to two eggs and some cookies a day due to her age. Morano's doctor, Carlo Bava, said she has perfect cholesterol and sugar levels. "She is in a great state of health and mind," he said. Most of this is due to her genetics and small variety diet. Despite her age, Morano has a love for Savoiardi cookies and she hides them behind her pillow. Even though raw eggs and cookies may not be the true answer to forever lifetimes, happy and healthy relationships will sure do the trick.
