The Noe Middle School Beta Club welcomed it's newest members.
On September 13, Noe Middle School Beta Club held their 2016-2017 Induction Ceremony. The officers and sponsors of the Noe Middle Beta Club, including myself, were met with smiling faces of the new seventh graders and their families. The purpose of the Induction Ceremony is to familiarize the new inductees to the officers, Annie Whaley ( President), Sam Baker ( Vice President) , Luke Bowman ( Treasurer) , Lihn Nguyen ( Service Coordinator), Sammy Norman
( Service Coordinator)Charlotte Bariteau ( Secretary), Everett Hart ( Leadership Advisory Board) , Maya Fleck ( Leadership Advisory Board), Hunter Broyles ( Leadership Advisory Board) and also to their sponsors Ms. Chapman and Mrs. Rosenberger. The students and their families received important information on the core values of the Junior National Beta Club and upcoming BETA events.
The officers, sponsors, and volunteers spent four hours setting up chairs, getting name cards alphabetized, and working on other activities to get ready for the big night. But what actually happens at Induction Ceremony? After about 500 of the students and parents shuffled into the crowded cafeteria, the president of the Beta Club took the stage to welcome the new Beta Club members and their families. The president then gave a speech on what her role in Beta Club was and how she would do her best to “uphold the ideals of this school and the National Beta Club”. She then went to light the white candle symbolizing purity and honesty. The other officers then went up and gave a similar speech of how they will fulfill their roles of leaders in the school environment. The new members of the Beta Club then were called onto the stage to get their official certificate, pin, and a handshake from the president. It was so lovely to see everyone smiling and being so proud of themselves for being asked to join the Beta Club. Seeing
all of these positive and friendly souls convinced me that Beta Club this year will be extraordinary.
